Love the hand drawn / painted posters of yester year.
Guide was a landmark film by Dev Anand it also starred Waheeda Rehman. The film is based on the novel ‘The Guide’ by R. K. Narayan.
It one of my fav films
Rula Ke Gaya Sapna Mera (Jewel Thief)
Chanda Hai Tu - Aradhana (1969)
Watching the video for this song from my favourite Indian film makes my eyes well up with tears because of the scarcity of moments in cinema, Indian and otherwise, that depict so poignantly, the love between a parent and a child.
My most beloved vintage Bollywood film. Beautiful poster.
Minimal Film Poster - Aradhana (1969)
A tribute to Rajesh Khanna.
Jawaane Janeman - Namak Halal
I threw this up in response to a request from a follower who wanted to see the beautiful Parveen Babi on the blog! I chose this number in particular because the song is super catchy and reminiscent of the disco stylings of the previous decade and because Parveen Babi is so fun and playful as she romps around the funky and colourful stage which is very typical of late-vintage films. It is definitely a shame that her acting career was so short as she really brought a unique light to Bollywood cinema.
Jo Wada Kiya Woh Nibhana Padega - Taj Mahal
Beautiful song with a beautiful message. Always keep your promises.
Aa Jane Jaan - Inteqam
Helen is as entrancing as ever in this dark, vampy number.
Chori Chori - Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandani
Never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Such a beautiful song.
